I love your site. I think it’s even cooler than we spell our name the same way (is that just me? everytime I meet another “Brandi” — which is rare — I get all giddy, like I’m meeting some long-lost sister). I can’t wait to read more — and try out some of these recipes! I’m an avid baker and cook myself. Well, when grad school allows it.

I absolutely adore your site! Hopped on over via Molly/Orangette and I just wanted to, first of all, say “thank you” for your fantastic posts, and also welcome you to Seattle! We moved up here from the Bay Area a little more than 10 years ago and it takes a bit of an adjustment — and not just to the pervasive grayness. Hope you move is as smooth as possible!
    Best of luck!

Thank you! It’s amazing, when I lived in San Francisco I felt I could never live anywhere else, but now that I’m here it seems like I’ve already been here for years (except for the not knowing where anything is part). We just moved in to our new home yesterday and are SO excited to start exploring the city. But for now, lots of unpacking!

Hi Brandi, I love your site and your food! Especially the pies and the pasta! I would love to know your pie crust secrets and recipes and which brand of those pretty fluted pie pans you use. Please, a tutorial on pie crust! And, I especially liked the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake-just amazing. Your photos are amazing too! I am opening a restaurant/pizzeria in Arizona this year and will probably put the cheesecake on the menu! I cannot resist!

Oh man, did G&G do an article on you? Did I miss it? They should definitely include the spiced nuts with candied bacon recipe. It looks to die for and I’m making it as holiday gifts this coming season and for my trip home to SC for Thanksgiving.

That recipe is going viral on Facebook so you should see an uptick in visits in the next few days (starting Nov. 9, 2010).

I came across your site via Orangette and have been reading back. I want to make the oyster crackers! what diameter did you use? I can’t tell from the pictures; are they as tiny as actual oyster crackers?

    • brandi said, on October 1, 2010 at 12:47 pm

Mine were the size of actual oyster crackers, but you can make them any size you want!

    Brandi,

Found your site on a blogroll in one of the Foodpress blogs. I was too curious to see what “lookImadethat” has to offer.
Well, curiosity killed the cat! Really liked your blog and your “eat from scratch” philosophy.
Love your matter of factly, straight in the face style of writing, even more so your photography. Awesome!
Everytime I bump into an awesome blog like yours, it is a very humbling experience, overwhelming actually, feel like a speck in the ocean…Have a long way to go out there!

What a wonderful site. Good recipes and great ideas. I grow, can, bake, and cook and love your content. One idea for the jam. My husband is diabetic so to make low sugar jam, I use Pomona Pectin – http://www.pomonapectin.com/. It works every time and you only have to use 1 to 1/12 cups sugar to get a batch of wonderful, full fruit flavor jam.

I just HAVE to tell you how much I was blown away by the appearance of ‘I made that!’ on the iPad. After finding and reading a few pages of your site on my computer, I moved to my iPad to read in bed before I went to sleep. When I got to your page I almost had to get up and message you right then. It is absolutely wonderful and completely blew me away; it was easy to get a peek at all the recipes without having to scroll through the whole description and it looked so professional. I was distraught when I found I had read through all 20 pages in no time. Hats off to you!

Just found the blog from The Pantry page. Live in Seattle, but grew up in South Georgia and the in-laws are in Auburn, AL. Anyway, love the blog! Totally relate on the boiled peanuts, but my husband is deathly allergic and I can’t make them at home. I just drooled over the peas and am thinking of a trip home in June (even though I’ll be 7 months prego) just to bring back a few bushels. Also, had the rhubarb shortcakes Saturday night at Delancey–ridiculously good!

Lovin your blog and your recipes. You’ve got some super talent in the kitchen! Can’t wait to try out the nutter butter recipes, and nuts with bacon.. wow. Just curious, what kind of camera do you use? Great picture quality. Look forward to reading more 🙂

Just found your blog on Saveur’s Best Of list. Wish I would have found you sooner, since I tried the great experiment last year of making almost everything from scratch, and blogging about it.
